For our first night on tour we are based at our lovely hotel in Girona, giving an easy 5 minute walk to the old parts of town (the Barri Vell), the Plaza Catalunya, the Muralla Carolingia (the city wall, unique in Europe), and the Arabic baths. Guests will enjoy wandering the narrow cobbled streets lined with cafes, shops and restaurants, before enjoying a meal together to welcome the newly arrived guests.

After our morning transfer the next day, we are based at a lovely lakeside hotel just outside Foix for 3 nights. Built in 1599, the hotel offers the ideal location to enjoy the Ariège area famous for its castles and picturesque countryside. Chateau de Foix and Labouiche cave (Grotte de Labouiche). Foix is situated in the Ariege Regional Park and at the foothills of the Pyrenees.

There are two parts to Foix: the historic town centre where you can still see various examples of medieval houses; and the castle that stands on a hill above the town and dominates the view from the town centre. Sooner or later all visitors to Foix will reach the old market square with its quaint cafés and boutiques, and on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Fridays Foix comes alive with it’s markets, held in the craft centre, and at the Place Saint Colusien where you will discover the biggest selection of cheeses and honey in one place!

Day trips for non-riders include excursions to the east of Foix near the border with the Languedoc-Roussillon region the medieval town of Mirepoix and the fortified village of Camon, listed as one of the most beautiful villages in France.

Our cyclists will discover that numerous climbs made famous by regular visits of the Tour de France are within a short ride including Col De Port, Col De Peguere, Plateau de Beille and Col De Pailheres. Taking some of the many roads leading away from the Pyrenees, we will also offer more leisurely rides along the quiet and beautiful valleys. Stopping for coffee at one of the ancient villages or market towns along the way.

On day 5 we transfer to our favourite hotel in Provence for 4 nights, set in beautiful Saint-Rémy-de-Provence. The hotel is only 300m from the village centre and features a spa with steam room, hydro-jet spa bath, massage, and many treatments.

Day trips for non-riders will include excursions to UNESCO World Heritage Listed sites (and other just perfectly Provencal villages) such as Avignon and Pont du Gard, Fontaine de Vaucluse, L’Isle sur la Sorgue, Sault, and Gordes, many of which we will visit on market days where possible.

Riders will enjoy taking in the many villages we ride through including Fontaine de Vaucluse, Sault, and Gordes, however they will also have the opportunity to ride the amazing Les Gorges de la Nesque, or even an ascent of the mighty Mont Ventoux!
